About Troop 7

Scouts BSA Troop 7, founded in 1913, is chartered to Grapevine Friends of Scouting.  Scout Meetings are at 7:30 on Monday evenings in the "Scout Hut". Meetings

Our troop size varies from year to year but is generally around 40 Scouts and 40 Adult Leaders.  Troop 7 follows the Scouts BSA Patrol Method to provide a boy-led program.  Scouts employ the EDGE method for learning and teaching skils:

E: Explaining the task
D: Demonstrating the steps of the task
G: Guiding the scout through the steps of the task
E: Enabling the scout to do the task on their own

Monthly camping activities are for Scouts to enjoy the outdoor experience with Adults present for guidance.  Scouts are able to reinforce their skills by learning, practicing and applying by teaching other Scouts.

Because the development of young men requires adult role models, there's an old joke that BSA doesn't' stand for Baby Sitters of America.  Troop 7 parents are active in the development of all Scouts and backing the boy-led program.

  • The Scoutmaster (SM) and Assistant Scoutmasters (ASM) - work with Scouts providing direction, coaching and support
  • The Troop Committee (MC), under the guidance of the Committee Chair (CC) meets monthly to oversee the administrative and financial aspects of running the troop.

For over 110 years, Troop 7 has provided an outstanding Scout program.  Read more about Troop 7 history History
